Rooted in a personal journey and a lifelong love for craftsmanship.
Our founder and designer, Barkev Meserlian, was first introduced to jewelry as a teenager while volunteering at a small local shop in his hometown of Jordan. What started as simple hands-on work quickly became something more—a growing appreciation for gemstones, metalwork, and the quiet precision behind fine craftsmanship.
Under the guidance of master jewelers, Barkev developed a design approach shaped by emotion, detail, and individuality.
His early pieces stood out for their character and thoughtful construction and many of which still remain part of our collection today.
In 1981, Barkev brought his vision to Los Angeles, determined to create jewelry without creative limits. There, he founded Barkev’s with a commitment to authenticity, quality, and design that feels personal.
Today, that same philosophy guides everything we create: jewelry made with intention, crafted to stand apart, and designed to be worn as part of your story—not just a moment.

1981–2018
Designing for Jewelers
For nearly four decades, we quietly worked behind the scenes—hand-crafting engagement rings in our Los Angeles studio and partnering with independent jewelry stores nationwide.
Jewelers offered our original designs through their own showcases, allowing generations of customers to choose Barkev’s rings through the stores they trusted most.
2018
Ecommerce Store Launch
As our designs gained recognition, our focus naturally shifted toward the individuals behind each piece.
The launch of our ecommerce website marked a new chapter—opening direct access to our designs, custom work, and made-to-order pieces. Through these one-on-one connections, we create jewelry shaped by personal stories and meaningful moments.
2025–Present:
Expanding Our Craft
With decades of design experience behind us, Barkev’s expanded beyond engagement rings by creating solid gold, vermeil, and silver jewelry for everyday wear.
By partnering with trusted ateliers in Italy and select international workshops, it allowed us to combine global craftsmanship to bring Barkev’s design standards and quality to pieces meant for life’s big moments and the ones in between.
